Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah, Virginia

Oh fall! How beautiful you are! At this point in our trip – we are in “peak” fall season, and it is GORGEOUS! Red leaves everywhere – and not just red, but such bright red, it’s nearly neon. I’m in love with Virginia in fall!

We spent the week staying at a campground in Lynchburg, Virginia. Cool fact – David’s grandma lived here! We found her old house, and saw the city of Lynchburg It’s a little funky, but has a nice vibe.

We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway all the way to Shenandoah National Park- one of the most beautiful drives in America! It is miles of road on top of the mountain peaks. It is so pretty! I wish my camera could truly capture it.

We did lots of hiking. One hike we did was on a cold misty day. We hiked for the view…. but that failed. HA! At least it was some good exercise, albeit wet!

We hiked for some water falls, and we hiked for fall leaves. So much beauty!

We did minimal boating, but we still found a small reservoir. We got puppy a puppy vest for boating. She is a little unsure about it, but she is getting better. And it makes us feel a LOT better.

As for where we stayed… I’m stealing this brilliant idea from a friend! Here goes:
